Jamie Canupp, MSN, RN, CNL
Jamie is responsible for assisting with the intake process by assessing incoming patient referrals, determining if they meet admission criteria to the facility, and facilitating the admission of patients. She also engages with community marketing and the development of relationships between Asheville Specialty Hospital and referring facilities in the community. She joined the Asheville Specialty Hospital team in July 2015 after spending 9 years as a critical care nurse in the neuro-trauma arena working for both Mission Health in Asheville, NC as well as Novant Health in Charlotte, NC. Jamie is a graduate of Queens University of Charlotte where she completed both her undergraduate nursing education and Master of Nursing degree. She also holds a national certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader and is a member of the American Nurses Association/North Carolina Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau National Nursing Honor Society, and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. As a native of Asheville, Jamie loves living in the mountains with her husband, daughter, and golden retriever and enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Referral LiaisonDiedra Sweet-Mahoney, BSN, RN
Diedra has been with Asheville Specialty Hospital for 13 years serving as a referral liaison and floor nurse. She especially enjoys working collaboratively with patients and their families and the entire medical team to provide amazing care to the patients here at Asheville Specialty Hospital and to patients in Western North Carolina and beyond. Diedra is a proud graduate of Idaho State University. She has had the opportunity to serve diverse patient populations, working on reservations out west and traveling with medical teams to Russia, Ukraine and Africa. As part of an ex-military family, she has lived across the US and believes “No place beats Asheville!”
